We pray for rising malaria cases in Pakistan following the floods. The UN reported 44,000 malaria cases last week in Southern Pakistan. God, in the wake of these terrible floods, we pray for the spread of waterborne diseases to reduce and for the provision of financial and physical aid to the overstretched health services of Pakistan.
On the first day of Black History Month, we give thanks for this opportunity to celebrate the often unexplored or ignored history of our black brothers and sisters. God, help us to use this month to encourage greater education about black history and activism against racism in all its forms.

We pray for the impact of social media on mental health, as the inquest into Molly Russell’s death continues. God, we pray for those responsible for social media sites to make wise choices about how to protect young and vulnerable people online.
We pray for the unrest in Iran, where more than 76 protestors have been killed. God, protect those who are demanding women’s rights in Iran from further harm. We pray that the hearts of those in power will be changed to enable freedom for all.
