Spreading Love & Hope...

Welcome to today's devotion. These resources have been gathered for your use at home during these days of physical social isolation and virtual social connection. May this devotion and the links provided help you stay connected to God and the wider community.

Thanks to Roger (pink flower) and Ted (field of foxgloves in Dinton Park) for the spectacular flower photos.

Here's the Sunday worship zoom link for 31 May. See you at 10:30.

Thank you.
For all that is to come,
Yes!”

'This is the only prayer (apart from the Lord's Prayer) that I know off by heart. It's by Dag Hammarskjold, former UN Secretary-General, and seems to cover most situations.'

Preparing for Pentecost

Acts 2: 1-21
Sunday 31 May 2020 is Pentecost Sunday, Whit Sunday.

Our Pentecost — Joyce Dent, UK

Pentecost came once –
long long, so long ago!
What can it mean to us
but to inspire perhaps?
And yet could it be so
that we might know
the fire upon our heads
and in our souls?
Our lives might yet be changed
beyond out wildest dreams –
or fears?
For we might have to go
out, near or far, to show
in caring deeds
or daring words
that Jesus still is here –
and calls to us
to walk the walk
and talk the talk
of long ago –
for people
of this present
Pentecost!

Music

Pentecost is the day everyone understands in their own language -- communication is perfect -- the sound, the visual -- everybody gets the message. Here you can learn how to 'Pass the Peace of Christ' in British Sign Language. It's beautiful. Give it a try!
And here's a link to ‘Sing for the World: Global Songs’ by John Bell and Alison Adam.
‘Don’t be Afraid’ is especially apt for these times.
