Spreading Love & Hope...
Welcome to this week's devotion. These resources have been gathered for your use at home during these days of physical social distancing and virtual social connection. May this devotion and the links provided help you stay connected to God and the wider community. (Apologies in advance - we're on leave for three weeks, starting next week, so these devotions will start back up in November.
|
If you have items to share -- a prayer, song, Bible verse, reflection, photo, link -- please send it, so we can share them with everyone.
|
Please share these devotions with friends.

In God's bubble
as we wade through these times of trouble, but on your low day when you can’t find the way,
|
remember we’re all in God’s bubble.

I thank thee God, that I have lived by Elizabeth Craven
I thank thee God, that I have lived In this great world and known its many joys: The songs of birds, the strongest sweet scent of hay, And cooling breezes in the secret dusk; The flaming sunsets at the close of day, Hills and the lovely, heather-covered moors; Music at night, and the moonlight on the sea, The beat of waves upon the rocky shore And wild white spray, flung high in ecstasy; The faithful eyes of dogs, and treasured books, The love of Kin and fellowship of friends And all that makes life dear and beautiful.
|
I thank Thee too, that there has come to me A little sorrow and sometimes defeat, A little heartache and the loneliness That comes with parting and the words ‘Good-bye’; Dawn breaking after weary hours of pain, When I discovered that night’s gloom must yield And morning light break through to me again. Because of these and other blessings poured Unasked upon my wondering head, I thank Thee, God, that I have lived.

The Happiness Prayer By Robert Louis Stevenson
Grant to us, O Lord, the royalty of inward happiness, And the serenity which comes from living close to thee. Daily renew in us the sense of joy, and let the eternal spirit of the Father [our Creator] dwell in our souls and bodies, filling every corner of our hearts with light and grace; so that, bearing about with us the infection of good courage, we may be diffusers of life, and may meet all ills and cross accidents with gallant and high-hearted happiness, giving thee thanks always for all things. Amen.

Peace be with You - Sign Language
Have a go at learning how to express 'Peace be with you' in Sign Language If we can all learn this, it will be great way to greet one another on-line.

(I believe the ‘priest’ mentioned is the person greeting everyone,
|
and the second greeting is to an individual.)
