Release stress & Cultivate calm
Feeling the need to release tension, stress, and anxiety?
Wanting to cultivate calm, peace, and clarity?
|
Try this exercise to bring your heart and mind into coherence...
|
Place your hand or finger on your heart.
Breathe deeply several times. Fill your lungs. Breathe in calm, peace and clarity.
|
Blow out each breath. Release tension, stress and anxiety.
|
As you breathe in, think on these things.
|
- who or what you CARE about
- who or what you APPRECIATE
- who or what you feel GRATITUDE for
- who or what you feel COMPASSION for.
|
If you journal, or would like to start, write down the people and things you have listed.
|
|
Then, with gratitude in your heart, thank God for freeing you from your stress and filling you with gratitude.
|
|
|
|
|
A Prayer for Today
|
Holy Spirit, you blow like the wind;
|
|
where you come from and where you are going, we know not.
|
|
Yet we know that you are always with us,
|
|
as near to us as our hands and the very air we breath.
|
|
We pause to sense your presence,
|
|
to remember your mighty power and your meek gentleness.
|
|
You are slow to anger and quick to forgive.
|
|
We are grateful for your mercy, for we are not perfect people.
|
|
We have failed to do things we should have done
|
|
and we have done things which we should not have done.
|
|
Forgive us our wrongdoings and help us to forgive others.
|
|
Break open our grudges transforming them into sparkles of your light.
|
|
Blow your breath through our resentments and scatter them
|
|
|
|
|
|
A Prayer from Methodist Connexion
God of all hope we call on you today.
We pray for those who are living in fear:
Fear of illness, fear for loved ones, fear of other’s reactions to them.
May your Spirit give us a sense of calmness and peace.
We pray for your church in this time of uncertainty.
|
While we celebrate the fellowship and united worship we enjoy throughout the week,
we pray for people who are hesitant to try worship and fellowship on-line.
We pray for those needing to make decisions in order to care for others,
|
and those facing illnesses themselves.
Grant us your wisdom.
Holy God, we remember that you have promised
|
|
that nothing will separate us from your love -
|
demonstrated to us in Jesus Christ.
Help us turn our eyes, hearts and minds to you.
|
|
|
|
|
Find a comfortable place to sit and listen to these musical selections.
