Opening Hymn RS 569 We pause to give thanks – Fred Kaan
We pause to give thanks, and focus our thought
on how far our God, his people has brought.
We pause for affirming, our 'yes' to his call,
pursuing his future: life's fullness for all.
The future is here, as Christ sets us free;
we reach out in hope, for all that will be.
We go where he leads us, to time's furthest ends,
to share in his mission, as partners and friends.
We rise and we risk, the course he has set,
to care for our world, a world of 'not yet'.
At one in the Spirit, we follow Christ's way
and put into practice, God's future today.

Hymn Sing Praise 136 - A Touching Place by John Bell & Graham Maule
Christ's is the world in which we move;
Christ's are the folk we're summoned to love;
Christ's is the voice which calls us to care,
and Christ is the one who meets us here.
Refrain: To the lost Christ shows his face,
to the unloved he gives his embrace,
to those who cry in pain or disgrace,
Christ makes, with his friends, a touching place.
Feel for the people we most avoid -
Strange or bereaved or never employed.
Feel for the women and feel for the men
who fear that their living is all in vain.
Refrain: To the lost Christ shows his face,
to the unloved he gives his embrace,
to those who cry in pain or disgrace,
Christ makes, with his friends, a touching place.
Feel for the parents who’ve lost their child,
feel for the women whom men have defiled,
Feel for the baby for whom there's no breast,
and feel for the weary who find no rest.
Refrain: To the lost Christ shows his face,
to the unloved he gives his embrace,
to those who cry in pain or disgrace,
Christ makes, with his friends, a touching place.
Feel for the lives by life confused,
Riddled with doubt, in loving abused;
Feel for the lonely heart, conscious of sin,
which longs to be pure but fears to begin.
Refrain: To the lost Christ shows his face,
to the unloved he gives his embrace,
to those who cry in pain or disgrace,
Christ makes, with his friends, a touching place.
Sermon Rev Dr Janet Tollington
God's love and purpose force us to look beyond our tight circles of connection (e.g. family & friends & church) to discover where God is at work bringing new life and hope.
Closing Hymn Rejoice & Sing 274 God is Love – Percy Dearmer
God is love, his the care
Tending each, everywhere.
God is love - all is there!
That we all might know him:
Refrain: Sing aloud, loud, loud,
God is good, God is truth,
God is beauty: praise him!
Jesus came, lived and died
Refrain: Sing aloud, loud, loud,
God is good, God is truth,
God is beauty: praise him!
Thus may we Godward move,
Joined as sisters, brothers,
Refrain: Sing aloud, loud, loud,
God is good, God is truth,
God is beauty: praise him!
To our Lord praise we sing -
Light and life, friend and king
Coming down love to bring,
Refrain: Sing aloud, loud, loud,
God is good, God is truth,
God is beauty: praise him!

If you would like to unmute yourself, you may do so now. If you are not going to stay for the fellowship groups, now is your opportunity to say and wave goodbye. If you are going to join a Breakout Group, the invitation will come up on your screen in about 2 minutes.
Fellowship Breakout Groups – how they work…
Breakout groups, a time for fellowship in small chat groups, were a great success last Sunday! After the postlude, you will receive a notice, an invitation, on your screen for the Breakout group you are in. These are groups of 6 (last week 8 seemed too large) decided randomly by Zoom, giving us all the opportunity for conversation and fellowship. If your group is too small or too large, you may leave the group and return to the main group and be re-assigned to a new group. You may choose to leave the Zoom gathering before going to a breakout group or anytime while you are in the breakout group. We hope you’ll give your small group a try and enjoy a time of fellowship. If you leave Zoom accidentally, you can always join in again using the same link.

Reminders to keep our Zoom service running smoothly:
- Please keep your microphone muted unless you are speaking.
- If you accidently leave Zoom, you can login again with the same link.
- Do NOT click on the green button that says 'share screen' (or we will see everything open on your computer!)
- When we sing and pray together, we will hear one voice, and the others will be muted.
- If the technology is compromised for any reason or goes totally wonky, we will end the on-line service immediately. If that should happen, we’ll try to restart as soon as possible, sending out an email to notify you.
- At this time, we are not requiring a password, to ease the access for those still learning the 'Zoom ropes'.
