Scripture & Gathering Romans 5:1,5)
Opening Hymn Rejoice & Sing 599, Christ for the world we sing! – Samuel Wolcott
1.
Christ for the world we sing,
the world to Christ we bring,
with loving zeal;
the poor, and them that mourn,
the faint and overborne,
sin-sick and sorrow worn,
for Christ to heal.
2.
Christ for the world we sing,
the world to Christ we bring,
with fervent prayer;
the wayward and the lost,
by restless passions tossed,
redeemed at countless cost,
from dark despair.
3.
Christ for the world we sing,
the world to Christ we bring,
with one accord;
with us the work to share,
with us reproach to dare,
with us the cross to bear,
for Christ our Lord.
4.
Christ for the world we sing,
the world to Christ we bring,
with joyful song;
the new-born souls, whose days,
reclaimed from error's ways,
inspired with hope and praise,
to Christ belong.

Prayers for our world

Scripture Matthew 9:35-10:11;10:16
You are encouraged to find this text ahead of time in your Bible and to read along.

Hymn RS 38 Thou whose almighty word – John Marriott
1.
Thou, whose almighty word
chaos and darkness heard,
and took their flight;
hear us, we humbly pray,
and, where the Gospel day
sheds not its glorious ray,
let there be light!
2.
Thou who didst come to bring
on thy redeeming wing
healing and sight,
heal to the sick in mind,
sight to the inly blind,
now to all humankind,
let there be light!
3.
Spirit of truth and love,
life-giving holy Dove,
speed forth thy flight!
Move o’er the waters' face
bearing the lamp of grace,
and, in earth's darkest place,
let there be light!
4.
Holy and blessèd Three,
glorious Trinity,
Wisdom, Love, Might;
boundless as ocean's tide,
rolling in fullest pride,
through the world far and wide,
let there be light!

Sermon For this we are responsible

Closing Hymn RS 579 Lord, thy church on earth is seeking – Hugh Sherlock
1
Lord, thy Church on earth is seeking
thy renewal from above;
teach us all the art of speaking
with the accent of thy love.
We would heed thy great commission:
‘Go now into every place –
preach, baptize, fulfil my mission,
serve with love and share my grace’.
2
Freedom give to those in bondage,
lift the burdens caused by sin.
Give new hope, new strength and courage,
grant release from fears within.
Light for darkness; joy for sorrow;
love for hatred; peace for strife:
these and countless blessings follow
as the Spirit gives new life.
3
In the streets of every city
where the bruised and lonely dwell,
let us show the Saviour’s pity,
let us of his mercy tell;
to all lands and peoples bringing
all the richness of thy word,
till the world, thy praises singing,
hails thee Christ, Redeemer, Lord.

Sending Forth & the Grace
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with each of us now and forever. Amen.

Fellowship breakout groups -- stay online!
We're trying something new! Breakout groups are small zoom groups which make conversation and fellowship easier. We hope you'll stay online and try it out.

You will receive a notice on your screen of the Breakout group you are in. These are decided randomly by Zoom, giving us all the opportunity to possibly get to know new friends. Introduce yourself in your group and enjoy a time of conversation and fellowship. You may choose to leave the Zoom gathering before going to a breakout group or anytime while you are in the breakout group.

Reminders to keep our Zoom service running smoothly:
  • Please keep your microphone muted unless you are speaking.
  • Do NOT click on the green button that says 'share screen' (or we will see everything open on your computer!)
  • When we sing and pray together, we will hear one voice, and the others will be muted.
  • If the technology is compromised for any reason or goes totally wonky, we will end the on-line service immediately. If that should happen, we’ll try to restart as soon as possible, sending out an email to notify you.
  • At this time, we are not requiring a password, to ease the access for those still learning the 'Zoom ropes'.
