Praying during COP26

What can churches be praying for during COP26?

We have a huge opportunity as Christians in the UK to make our voices heard during COP26. Please join other Christians in praying together for these negotiations as guided by the Eco-Church November prayer diary.

You can also find a prayer for COP26 written and read by Andy Atkins here.

Governments will be making key decisions not just on carbon emissions targets and aid to poor countries, but also on whether to support a scaling up of ‘nature-based solutions’ to climate change – for example, regenerating forests, restoring wetlands and grasslands.

A focal day for this issue will be Saturday 6 November, which has been designated ‘Nature Day’ on the official COP programme. So please pray for greater understanding by governments of Nature-based solutions on the 6th, and a much greater commitment to regenerate natural ‘carbon sinks’.
