An evening of entertainment and fun was held recently run by the church drama group, The Progress Players. It was definitely a first for them performing on Zoom for a remote audience from as far away as the USA. Everyone was asked to make a Christmas hat in advance of the event and did this with enthusiasm! There were some amazing creations ranging from Christmas trees, hats that lit up, Christmas wreaths and glowing stars. Elaine was voted the eventual winner with her Christmas tree creation. The children were asked to draw or paint a Christmas scene and, again there were some brilliant entries – – see Alice & Lydia’s representations of Father Christmas’s house!
The entertainment varied from Christmas poetry, a reading from Dylan Thomas’s, A Child’s Christmas in Wales a Christmas music quiz and two mini-pantos. The finale of a performance of Puss in Slippers was very well-received and involved much changing of wigs and hats by the cast.
The Progress Players were delighted to have raised over £300 for Church funds and The Trussell Trust.
