Bible Study Day with Revd Dr Janet Tollington

Revd Dr Janet Tollington will guide us through the Old Testament Babylonian Exile period and help us examine how today’s Church, too, lives in exile.
Dr Tollington, a retired minister in the United Reformed Church and taught at Westminster College in Cambridge.  She continues to teach for Cambridge University and church groups (lay and ministers).  She also leads worship somewhere on most Sundays.
She speaks in an informal and lively way, is easy to listen to and brings the Old Testament to life, making it easy to understand.

This day of Bible Study is open to everyone.

Please bring your Bible. (Any version is OK.)

and don’t forget your packed lunch! drinks will be available.

10.00 – 10.45 – Welcome & 1st session (Introduction to the themes of exile)
10.45 – 11.15 – coffee break
11.15 – 12.30 – 2nd session (Exploring biblical accounts of exile)
12.30 – 13.30 – lunch break
13.30 – 14.45 – 3rd session (Exploring theological responses to exile)
14.45 – 15.00 – tea break
15.00 – 15.45 – 4th session (Embracing exile as Church)
