Daily Prayers for our World

We pray for indigenous communities likely to be cut off by flooding in Australia. God, we pray for these isolated communities as they endure huge challenges and for all those in Australia who are experiencing damage to their homes or property due to flooding.

We give thanks for the news that the ozone layer is on track to recover, according to the UN. God, we thank you that efforts to repair the ozone layer are proving effective, and pray that this will encourage other international responses to reduce the impact of pollution.

We give thanks that Maasai people were able to reclaim their lands from the Tanzanian government, securing them for generations to come. God, we thank you that this community has been able to gain legal access to their land, and pray that it would enable this community to thrive for years to come.

We pray for Haiti, where multiple crises have left a power vacuum and increasing instability. God, we pray for the people of Haiti as they negotiate these circumstances, and for a government to be put in place who respond to the needs of the Haitian people.

We pray for Brazil, in the aftermath of the insurrection in Brasilia. God, we pray for all those who were harmed or affected by the aggression of the riots, and for a reduction in polarisation and radicalism in Brazil.

We pray for the people of Yemen who have endured 8 years of brutal war, with the news that 87 civilians were killed by UK and US weapons in the last year. God, we pray that the current ceasefire will hold and that diplomacy is able to provide lasting peace.

We pray for ambulance crews and patients struggling with the highest waiting times ever. God, we pray for those who have experienced health complications due to these delays, and for support to be put in place so that ambulance crews are able to deal with demand.
