Daily Prayers for our World

We pray for efforts to insulate homes in the UK, as experts call for a boost energy efficiency to address high energy costs. God, we pray for those with the skills to improve energy efficiency, and for policies which increase the rollout of support across the UK.

We give Thanks for efforts to restore biodiversity, as 22 landscape recovery projects are given government support. God, we thank you that support has been given to these efforts and pray for their success, that future generations may enjoy the fullness of your creation.

On the day of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, we pray for her family and those close to her at this time of loss. God, as they give thanks for her life and achievements, be close to them in their grief.

We pray for the family and friends of Chris Kaba. God, in the wake of this act of violence, we pray  for your justice to roll down like a river. We pray for all victims of racialized violence and long for a world in which everyone is seen as they are – made in your image.

On the UN International Day of Peace, we pray for the escalating conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the deadliest violence there since 2020. God, we pray for this and all conflicts around the world. Bring your true peace and reconciliation to these troubled places.

We pray for those living with health conditions caused by pollution. Heart arrhythmias are more likely in young people who have been exposed to higher levels of pollution. God, we pray for air pollution to reduce and for more creative solutions for heart problems.
