Daily Prayer for our World

as COP27 focusses on decarbonisation, we pray for clarity on the UK government’s emissions data, described as ‘inconsistent’. God, we pray for greater consistency from the government on its net zero approach, so that decarbonisation can happen more effectively.

We Give Thanks for the thousands of people taking to the streets for rallies in the Global Day of Action for COP27. God, we thank you that we can raise up our voice to call for climate justice and pray that COP27 will work towards just and fair outcomes for all.

We Give Thanks for communities coming together to respond to the cost of living crisis, such as plumbing network Depher providing emergency support to vulnerable households. God, we give thanks for people supporting others in their community during these difficult times

as COP27 explores gender and climate, We Pray for the inclusion of women in climate solutions. God, we pray that women would be empowered and equipped with the right tools to use their homes and livelihoods to be part of change, particularly in low-income countries.

As COP27 focusses on green energy, we Pray that the UK’s aspiration to become a ‘Green Energy Superpower’ would be matched with action. God, we pray that the Government will give enough resource to increasing clean energy in the UK to move us forward to climate justice.

we Pray for progress on funding for loss and damage at COP27. God, we lament the climate crisis disproportionately affects the most vulnerable but least responsible communities in our word. We pray that COP27 would see leaders work harder to achieve justice for all.

We Pray for the autumn fiscal statement in the UK. God, we pray that the poorest and most vulnerable in our communities will be prioritised through solutions to the cost of living crisis, and that those who fear the winter would be offered the support they need.
