Alabare’s Big Sleep at Home 8 Oct

Big Sleep at Home
Friday 8th October 2021
to mark World Homeless Day

From Alabare…

This year, to mark World Homeless Day, on Friday October 8th we are holding our third sponsored Big Sleep at Home!

In solidarity with those who don’t have anywhere safe to sleep and end up on the streets, you are invited to spend one night sleeping out under the stars, or somewhere unusual such as a church building, a garden shed or a porch. It will be cold and uncomfortable, but as you get up in the morning, you will appreciate how wonderful it is to have a kitchen, a bathroom and running water in a way that you haven’t before.

We will be providing some online entertainment on the night, and details of how to join in will be sent out prior to the event.

We are so grateful for all the support we receive from the church communities, and we hope you agree that this is a very fitting way for us all to mark World Homeless Day.

One previous participant of the Big Sleep at Home 2020 said “I came in with a refreshed appreciation of the roof over my head. It is crushing to know that some people do not have the safety and comfort of a place to call home.”

It is free to sign up, just follow the link here

With very many thanks for your support
