Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the children of the earth.
We did not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. –attributed to Chief Seattle
Season of Creation (Creation Time) — Creation Time started in the Orthodox Church in 1989. The European Christian Environmental Network has urged churches to adopt a Season of Creation, stretching from 1 September to the feast of St Francis on 4 October, as a ‘season dedicated to prayer for the protection of Creation and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles (perma-cultures) that reverse our contribution to climate change.’
At home preparation:
- Reflect on your responsibilities as a member of our church community and as a steward of God’s creation.
Church Notices
- Harvest Service 19 September: collection for Commitment for Life and Trussell Trust.
Fellowship — After the service, Breakout Groups on Zoom are available for conversation and friendship.
